Call me!

So I finally broke out my Tim Holtz/Sizzix vintage phone die and made these two cards for a product post over at Love is in the Details!  It's a very versatile die and just opens the door to all kinds of pun-ny cards you could make!

Here are two I made from the same die.  This first one I made traditional, vintage black...
and used the Tim Holtz/sizzix alphabet die - Wordplay!  Definitely my new fave!!
And this one I cut out in a fun vibrant orange!  The chippie pencil from October Afternoon was a fun addition, I thought!
Again, a Tim Holtz/Sizzix alphabet die.  More fun than a Slip-n-Slide, right??

Bits and Pieces put to work

So yesterday I showed you what you can do with some scraps, a few punches and miscellaneous bits laying around, and I promised to show you a few of the projects I made with those embellie clusters!

First, is a layout of my daughter in law.  I used two clusters on the page, and it made the whole page pretty simple and quick to put together.  Slap them on and they were pretty much enough!

Next, I made these four cards.  Again, they came together so easily and quickly because the part that makes my brain sweat was already done!

This card even got 3 little clusters!  I figured the little bit of aqua on each tied them together enough to combine!

These samples were posted at Love is in the Details and many of the supplies used are from the store there.

Bits and Pieces...

A variation of this post went up over at Love is in the Details last weekend, so please forgive the repeat!

So, y'know how we all collect (amass) scrapbook supplies, especially all those cute embellishments??  Oh, don't tell me you don't....I know better!

And sometimes you look at all that stuff and think, NOW WHAT DO I DO WITH ALL THESE BITS???  Well, pile 'em up!  If one is good, 5 is better kind of thing!  This is definitely one of those times when the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts!!  Or something like that.

I pulled out a bunch of punches.  And was very glad they'd all survived the various purges I done in my scrap room.  And then I pulled out a bunch of stickers, and die cuts and labels and buttons and ribbon and paper and corrugated cardboard and printed transparencies and vellum and cork and woodgrain MacTac and well...just went to town!!

After I'd punched a whole whack of different shapes from various different materials, I just started piling things on.  You get into kind of a rhythm. One thing I did a lot of, was sewing through the whole stack of layers.  Now, what I have is a collection of cute bits that are more than they were originally and make for a quick and easy embellishment cluster.

So anyway, that was just too much fun and I couldn't stop there.  Now I had to go a bit bigger!  So I pulled out journaling cards and tags.  Bigger canvases to pile the bits on!  Here's a few of my favorites!

And then I just had to get a little silly.  I've had some paint chips hanging around for a long time.  Just because they were pretty.  Or could be if I did something with them.  And that justification enough to hang onto stuff, right?  So I punched some circles out of those paint chips and piled on the cute bits.

Be sure to check back tomorrow, when I show you some of the projects I made using these embellie clusters!  Thanks for stopping by today!!

Pitter patter,

Let's get at 'er!!

Seriously, time to get off my duff and get something posted!!

This layout and challenge was posted at Scrap Your Crap last week for the challenge this month to use your brads and/or eyelets!  I don't have much in the way of eyelets anymore, but I'm always happy to pull out the brads!!  I used a mix of brads, paper and fabric paper circles and ink splats to create the random happy dots all over.
I love this photo.  Our family never had a tv growing up, but we never wondered what to do with our time....those LONG summer days passed in a flash.  And I love remembering the many hours spent playing together with this doll house my dad built us.  (Even long after playing with dolls was age-appropriate.  Never mind, I don't have the house anymore, but I DO still have most everything else we played with in this photo!  So who's all age-appropriate now??  Lol.)

When I Grow Up removed for publication.

And finally, I have a couple of Polka Doodles challenges to catch you up on!
This one was for the Banners and Bunting challenge, week 31.  Besides paper and sentiments from Polka Doodles, I used a cute Emma Canning image.

This one is for the current Tag challenge.  Again I used this sweet Emma Canning image, and papers from the new Picknix cd.

Be sure and click on the links to go to the host blogs where you can see more inspo for each of these challenges and then jump in and join us!!  And don't forget there's still a DT search going on at Scrap Your Crap AND two at Polka Doodles!
